what a trip!

what can i even say about our trip to Utah. it was so, so, so great to be home and with family, even though the trip did not start out all that great.

what should have been a two hour plane ride to get into salt lake, turned into an almost 12 hour day. once our plane got over the salt lake airport, we had to circle a couple of times. we finally heard our landing gear come down, and we thought "wow, we finally get to land." then the pilot came over the intercom and said that they had just closed the airport and we were being diverted to Twin Falls, Idaho. after an hour of being in Idaho, they finally decided to let everyone off the plane to get some food. Eric and I would have done that, but they also said you had to take all your bags with you. well, eric and i had four bags and lawson to carry with us through the snow storm to get into the airport. well, we didn't want to do that, so i just sent eric inside to eat. a couple of hours went by, and no one who got off the plane had come back. then, all of a sudden, one gentleman came back on the plane with some food for his wife and kids. i thought "great, eric should be back soon." well, it turned out that this guy had walked through a door that said RESTRICTED. TSA flipped out and decided that everyone and every bag had to come off the plane and get rechecked. so now i am on the plane with lawson, four bags and i have to carry it all through the snow storm to get into the airport. after the sent every other plane out, they let us get back on our plane and we finally got to leave. we got the Colorado Springs airport at 10:30 in the morning and finally got to leave the salt lake airport at 10:00 in the evening. all we could do was laugh.

going to wyoming was wonderful. it was a snowy winterland in which we got to sit by the fire, play cards, shovel snow and had a white christmas. every chance we had, we played cards. it was so much fun to not have anything to do so we could watch football, play cards, and relax. eric has been working so hard lately, i know that he really needed this trip. however, we did have to take lawson over to my aunt and uncles to get a picture with a christmas tree.

i cannot explain enough how much i love all of my family. i cannot wait until i can be there more. lawson misses his Grandma Laurie and Grandpa Mike so much also. we hope that everyone had as amazing holidays as we did.

now, just a few of our gazillion pictures.
